Returning

It has been exactly 5 years since I last wrote in this blog, and I've decided to return.

There is nothing specific I want to write about, other than to return to something I used to enjoy. The prioritization of running a startup naturally leads to the deprioritization of the non-essential, and for me that was writing in my little vanity blog.

So much of my work has become enmeshed with AI that it feels performative to write this without it, like a "tech cleanse" retreat or something. Despite this, I have started to feel a slight unease that important muscles I once took for granted may be atrophying in their AI braces, and this may activate them again.

For the record I am not an AI skeptic. It has been transformational in my line of work, and I have hungrily indulged in every new model, every new tool. That being said, I have my concerns.

But concerns can be a different post, this is just to break the ice. If I end up writing more, it will mark the point of return.

If not, it's a good setup to the Returning II punchline blog post in 5 years.
